Notes on device operation

The individual setting of intensity and rhythm

The intensity

The intensity is continuously adjustable up to a maximum and always set so that the treatment is perceived as pleasant. The intensity acts as a flowing current between the hand electrodes. Although too high an intensity cannot do any harm, it is usually perceived as unpleasant and can thus frighten the patient. Electrical conductivity varies from person to person. Accordingly, the intensity must be adjusted on a case-by-case basis.

The intensity regulator

The display above the intensity control indicates the respective intensity level in % of the maximum value. If the mains voltage fails or if the mains plug is pulled out during therapy, the unit is automatically switched off. The yellow operating light goes out. To restart the unit, the intensity control must first be turned all the way to 0. When switching on again, the yellow operating lamp lights up again. The device is immediately ready for operation again.

The rhythm

The rhythm of the electrical stimulation results from the number of cycles per second. It is continuously adjustable from 1.0Hz to 0.1Hz and can be set according to therapy needs.

The rhythm light display

The indicators (yellow) located above the rhythm controller flash in the respective working rhythm and thus visualize the set bar length.

Basic information on the use of Schöndorf electricity

The choice of power quality

Two current qualities are available:

  1. One for performing manual therapy with hand electrodes or kinesia. To do this, press down the pushbutton on the icon.
  2. One to perform fixed position therapy or fixation as preferably for joints and organs. To do this, press the pushbutton on the icon again to bring it up.

The setting of intensity and rhythm

At the beginning, always choose a low intensity and a short rhythm. This applies to both current qualities, since only with a short rhythm can the increasing intensity be perceived in time. Therefore, you should always turn the intensity and rhythm knobs back to the left to the stop after each use. Later, the intensity and rhythm can be adapted to the respective therapy needs. The focus is always on adapting the intensity to a pleasant therapy sensation for the patient.

The handling of the step electrode

The step electrode is used to perform large-area and deep tissue treatments. The step electrode connection is used to treat the surface muscles. Here, the current flows from one electrode to the next. The step electrode connection is used with a counter electrode and is used for the depth effect. Here, the current always flows from each electrode up or down to the counter electrode. The rhythm slider is always set to slow.

The handling of the fixing electrodes

Fixation electrodes are used to target smaller zones such as a joint, nerve puncture or muscle. For this purpose, the electrodes are firmly applied to the target site and fastened with a tape. The rhythm slider is always set to slow.

The handling of the hand electrodes

Which hand goes into which electrode and is connected to which socket on the device is irrelevant. The rhythm slider is always set to fast. The hand electrodes can be used to move dissolved substances.
